I knew this book would be sad but holy crap this was heartbreaking right from the start. It’s also written VERY well. It’s my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. Tracey’s home life is awful and she is continuously being abused emotionally, physically and sexually by her no good father. Tracey refuses to have friends because if she did her dad would get mad and hurt her even more. She’s also tried to unalive herself more times than she can count but her mother always saves her. You might be thinking “awwww I love her mother for this” but no. Her mother does it so Tracey won’t leave her with her POS husband. I didn’t read up much on this book, I had actually gotten it for free. I originally thought I knew who the love interest was in this book, you know the guy who swoops in and saves her from hell buuuuuut I was wrong. I never wanted to be so wrong in my whole life because the guy who does is EVERYTHING Tracey needed and more. She struggles the whole entire book (rightfully so) and at times I got so annoyed but then quickly realized I’m not an abuse victim and this very well could be her whole life going forward. I do have to say the people in her corner that said they would be there for her always and never leave her alone failed one too many times. You’re in a public place FOLLOW HER TO THE BATHROOM. Damn. Even though this book was super hard to read it was all worth it to get to the ending 🥹
