To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

5.0

I loved this book!!! I've been itching to read it since I finished The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy and it did not disappoint. First off, I love Jenny Han's writing and the plot lines of her books. Sometimes with YA contemporary I get frustrated because love is so romanticized that it makes the story feel contrived and utterly impossible to believe. I don't find this with Jenny Han, at all. I loved the main character, Lara Jean, because she was a firm believer in the romanticized idea of true love. But, throughout the book she learns that none of that is real. I couldn't put down the book once I started. I love all the characters because they are so real. The characters are deeper than what you see at face value and that's exactly what it's like in real life. Sometimes Lara Jean could be annoying and her beliefs were unrealistic but that's because she was a dreamer and a romantic. I also love the immersion of the Korean culture in the book. I love Korean food and Kdramas so it was one of my favorite parts! I didn't know if I would be able to get into a book so fast after I finished Paper Towns but I read it in a day. I am so excited there is going to be another book to this because I was left with a "I want more and there is no more" face. Jenny Han has become one of my favorite writers and her YA contemporaries are amazing. I will deff recommend this book to people
