Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

4.0

Shadow and Bone reignited my love for fantasy. Bardugo did such a great job with world-building, diversity and representation. None of it felt forced, it all felt perfect. Although I was not a fan of Mal...I loved Alina Starkov and her life at the Grand Palace. I loved the Grisha introductions and all the magic and hope. The ending turned around the whole story and headed it in a new direction, which I loved even more. The Darkling was creepy one minute and enticing the next. The various countries and the wars in between them always made me wonder what was next. I recommend this series for sure.
(Oh, and if you want to read Six of Crows...I suggest starting with this series first).
