The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith
2.0

It hurts me to give this book 2 stars, but I just can't make myself give it 3 stars, when I know I didn't particularly love this book. It was okay. It was a normal read, but it didn't leave any notable impression in me during and after I read this book.

I think the problem was the expectations that I had going into this book. I thought it was going to be amazing, as good as Smith's last books, but sadly, I was quite bored with this book. I didn't feel inclined to finish it any time soon (even though I did). I just felt like the tone of the story was very monotone, there wasn't any moment that made my heart rate spike up or down, it was very regular. Nothing made me gasp or bleary eyed or scream from glee. The storyline had a lot of potential, but it wasn't explored enough to leave me wanting more...

It did have its redeemable parts, like the character development from Owen and Lucy (I'm a sucker for character development) and the description of the places was really on point. But apart from those two aspects, I just don't see myself picking this book up in any future.

I agree with what Megs says, "This book was cute, but not cute at the same time. Boring, but not boring. Do you get what I mean?"
