The Summer King Bundle by Jennifer L. Armentrout

5.0

Summary: Brighton has lost everything and now she’s out for revenge against the Fae who attacked her and her mom. While hunting Fae at one Night Brighton is intercepted by The Prince, the formerly brainwashed and evil Prince who kidnapped and tortured her friend Ivy; but more and more frequently Brighton is running into the Prince and emotions run high as both attempt to get revenge on the Fae who have wronged them.

Thoughts: I liked these novellas better than the Wicked Trilogy. The Prince, Caden is much more interesting than Ren and I love him for it. Brighton too is more engaging than Ivy both Caden and Brighton seem to have more invested in their struggle and I loved them for it. Also I loved seeing Tink again he really is like a stray Cat just taking over wherever and who ever he wants. Tink’s relationship with Fabian is very precious and is his relationship with Brighton and Caden. I like that Caden and Tink just immediately accept each other and I adore that Tink is Brighton’s number one confidante, they are really cute together. I also really like Brighton and Caden’s relationship and how it developed I liked that they both had their trauma and had to work to overcome it. Brighton being scared of the Fae makes sense given how she was raised and then how she was attacked and I like how much she grew and and came to accept the Fae and Caden. Caden is a gem and yes a little over protective the two need to work on their communication but overall he really does just want to keep her alive and he has a solid point. As strong as Brighton is, the Fae are just stronger and their biology makes zero sense but I’m glad for the overpower or Fae magic because it lets Caden and Brighton have the happy ending they both deserve. The epilogue for this book is super cute and once again I’m gonna reiterate how much I adore Tink, he really is a gem
