I wanted to read this book because I also live in a university community that is a prime hunting ground for predators. I wanted to acknowledge what was likely happening in my backyard so that I could ensure I wasn’t complicit in perpetuating the societal problems in this area. Krakauer’s writing and research and impeccable. Though it solidly made me uncomfortable to think about the things that happened to these women and many others, I am glad to have open eyes on the subject matter.
