Please read all of the content warnings before you read this book. I did not, and it's not a book I would have read if I had. I do not know if this level of violence and gore is standard for Karin Slaughter, but the book did not need to be as detailed as it was to have shock factor or pull at our heart strings.
Great emotional depth to the characters and I enjoyed the sisters ' relationship. However, the twist was unnecessary and the book could have achieved the same end goal without the additional violence as a a result.
