The Chateau by Jaclyn Goldis

4.0

A little murdery, a little soapy, 'The Chateau' was both fun to read and surprisingly tackled deeper subjects like infertility and antisemitism. The ending was bonkers in the best way
Spoiler with Arabelle revealed to have killed the grandfather, the grandmother, and almost Darcy AND be cheating with Darcy's husband in order to get revenge for being treated like help rather than a beloved family member. Though I suspected that Darcy's husband might be involved, so thought their final conversation leaving the extent of his involvement open-ended was excellently done. While I wish Goldis hadn't let Seraphine completely off the hook for stealing Jade's family heirlooms and sending her grandparents to a concentration camp because it would've made her a more complex character, I appreciated how that led to the resolution of Jade's friendship with Darcy and Vix.
