Let me first just clarify that I did in fact like this story. It was fun, sexy, sometimes sad and made me melt a little too. I liked Zane and Ty a lot. Both with their own issues aplenty, enough to keep the reader guessing and intrigued by the depth of their hidden emotions. Cut & Run comes with the usual hotness of two Alpha males in alpha situations. The chemistry was pretty intense even if there wasn't much of a build up to it. It just happens, boom, chemistry after the characters take an obvious dislike for each other at their first meeting. The plot line continues in the manner of action packed movie/tv series with the car chases, serial killer on the rampage, both Zane and Ty laying their life on the line while refusing medical treatment for obviously very serious wounds. It is in fact the relationship development that I liked the most about this book. Oh and the steamy shower scene of course. ;)
On the other hand, I’m not sure if this was an exercise in style but the constant change of POV confused me and, at first, it didn’t allow me to get invested in the story. But I got used to it after a while. There were also a few arbitrary elements in the book that didn’t seem to contribute anything to the story, like that conversation Ty had on his cell with someone in a Middle-Eastern language that sounded like Farsi to Zane. My general impression was that the text could have benefited from some additional editing since there were a few inconsistencies in the time line or in the characters’ actions.
But anyway. Like I said at the beginning of this review, I liked this book. A lot. I especially enjoyed the soft tender moments toward the end of this book, and I will be reading more of this series.
