We Have To Do Something by Max Booth
4.0
This. Was. WHACK.
The possibility of interpretation in this novel had my little literary brain SPINNING for hours, but aside from that, Booth's writing was so brilliantly atmospheric and well paced I felt so anxious the entire time. This story really plays into the fear around "the devil you know" and is something that has to be experienced to be understood. The premise did not sound that scary to me but this was a genuinely frightening book, especially in ways I did not expect. Reminded me a lot of "I'm Thinking of Ending Things". Short, but well done.
