A middle grade book a day keeps the doctor at bay, right? Cranking through these. The best opening chapter of the series so far, and actually scary one at that. And, if you squint,

an Eskimo kiss

happened in there between baes, so I liked that. Still formulaic plotting and slapdash, like literally all over the place to make things progress quickly, but thus far I think I enjoyed the writing in this one the best, finally almost feels like a different author wrote it.
