Was it predictable? OF COURSE. Did I enjoy it regardless? ABSOLUTELY!
What I loved:
- the diverse cast of lovable characters (JULIAN DIAZ MY BELOVED) - even background ones were so flashed out!!!!
- Latinx culture and preparations for Día de Muertos
- NECROMANCY YAYYYY
- inclusion of various familial relationships (some books tend to forget about that so I appreciate it a lot!)
- the stunning writing style
- Avi Roque as a narrator of the audiobook (great experience fr!)
What I disliked:
- the predictability
- the whole resolution happened so fast compared to the rest of the book
Overall, a great book that I’m probably going to come back to write down my favorite quotes!
