𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓛𝓪𝓼𝓽 𝓣𝓻𝓾𝓮 𝓟𝓸𝓮𝓽𝓼 𝓞𝓯 𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓢𝓮𝓪 was a beautiful story about what it takes to swim up from a wreck.

🌊 Violet and her younger brother grew up being told that their family isn't just lucky. They persevere. Their great-great-great-grandmother, was the only survivor of a ship wreck. She swam to shore, found her love and founded the town of Lyric, Main, where Violet's parents grew up, and where Violet and her brother Sam would spend their summers exploring and going on adventures.

🌊 Violet seems to think wrecks just run in the family. She's smart and funny, but she's can't stop partying with a certain kind of people. But one summer, when her sensitive brother attempts to take his own life, Violet gets shipped to Lyric while Sam is in treatment.

🌊 She becomes friends with a few of the kids, and she gets involved in finding out more about the wreck and the story behind the town founders.

I found the story to be profound. The teenagers were entertaining and smart, kind and lovely. The conversations were simple and deep, and I liked seeing Violet change, I liked that she was admitting to her true feelings and behavior and that she worked for her and Sam's relationship. She found meaning, and it felt great.
