You will like Volume 2 if you enjoyed Volume 1. The nine storylines (or nine characters?) begin to intertwine as we become more familiar with their world. We learn more about the relationship between Xanther and her cat. My favorite sections were Xanther, Ozgur, and jingjing.
MZD compares The Familiar to a TV show (with five volumes equaling a full season). Into the Forest feels like the second half of a pilot. I am immensely excited for Honeysuckle & Pain (isn’t that a great title?).
