by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
A book that has changed my life and my faith. Bonhoeffer talks in depth about Jesus’ sermon on the Mount, and about the cost of being a true disciple of Jesus. I’ve never read a “Christian book” as convicting as this one. There is lots I still don’t understand, and it has taken me over 6 months to read. Bonhoeffer talks with severity and sincerity, and explains that grace is not cheap, but costly. I will come back to this text again, perhaps after I’ve read some of his other works.
