Betsy-Tacy by Maud Hart Lovelace
4.0

A sweet children's book that would probably be most loved by children around Betsy and Tacy's age (five years old) for its simple stories about playing pretend and going on picnics. It does touch briefly on some more serious topics — the death of Tacy's baby sister and the birth of Betsy's — but it's overall a lighthearted read about the friendship of two girls. As an adult I mostly found it interesting to see the similarities and differences between today's children and those of this book (set around the turn of the 20th century). I would enjoy reading this to a child and talking about the stories with them.
