The Last Day by Andrew Hunter Murray
5.0
What would you do to survive and how far would you go to ensure your survival? After the earth stops spinning, leaving half in complete darkness and the other half in the scorching sun, governments and counties collapse as people attempt to migrate to the safe zone where you're not frozen to death or scorched to death.
Britain survives the Stop and its government turned dictatorship hides many secrets and projects to gain complete control over immigrants such as the Americans, who have brought over their nuclear weapons.
The post apocalyptic story follows Dr. Hopper switching between past and present as you find out what she discovers in her past and present. She opts to work on a rig in the middle of the Atlantic to study the ocean and was spared to see what life is really like back in Britain until the government brings her back to see if she can find what her tutor has been hiding.
I felt drawn to the characters, to understand those who follow the rules and the government in order to survive and those with blind loyalty. Hopper looks for the truth and does what is right for humanity and not just for Britain.
I enjoyed the writing and the plot, especially the ending.
