I cannot lie, if I were to rate the first ~quarter of the book alone, it would have been a 2. HOWEVER, the remainder of the book was so brilliant and well done that it absolutely deserves a 5. The book is hauntingly beautiful and sad. I will certainly think about it often and will reread over the years.
