It took me a little while to get through this one and took a while for it to grip me but when it did it really did! I really enjoyed this book and really looking forward to reading the rest of the series. 
The world building that Philip Pullman is able to do is astounding and something that made the story even more enjoyable. 
The bond between Lyra and Pan is so lovely and I love how everyone believed in her and her abilities. 
The turn at the end though, oh my gosh!

The admiration you feel for her father the whole way through the book is completely flipped!
