Holy shit!!!!!! This was so good! I went in completely blind, only knowing what I’d seen from a few TikTok audiobook clips. The tiny samples weren’t enough, so I took the plunge, and I’m so glad I did because now I’m completely addicted.
The book gave me Twilight x Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier vibes (without any of the supernatural elements). That mix of moody intensity, raw tension, and almost magnetic pull between the characters had me glued from start to finish. Even if you don’t catch those same vibes, it doesn’t matter, this story more than stands on its own. Also, that ending was insane! I was in the last few chapters and was like wtf is gonna happen, there's not a lot left but holy, a lot happened in that short time!
The pacing was spot-on, the characters felt alive in every scene, and the atmosphere was everything I wanted and more. It was one of those reads where you look up and realize you’ve lost hours because you couldn’t tear yourself away.
And just like that, I will definitely be continuing with the next book in the series. Consider me hooked.
