Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer
4.0

I so wish that you could leave half stars as well, because this book was really a 4.5 for me. So close to being one of my favorite of favorites. And so worth the wait!

While I’m aware it’s part of a series that is either loved or despised (and really, at this point, if it’s not your thing, why keep reading?) but I’ve always been a fan. And so excited when I first heard that an Edward viewpoint was in the works. Being in his head was a much darker place, but it provided so much more clarity and insight into the moving parts Bella could only guess at. His relationship with his family, and a look into their thoughts, was such a bonus too.

The ending broke my heart, his resolve to leave, and setting up for the beginning of New Moon. Even so, it made me eager to read my least favorite of the series again!

Also, with my OCD, it was so very relaxing and rewarding to read this alternating chapters with Twilight so I could get the full view. I know it won’t happen, but if I could get the whole series written with companion Edward POV, I would buy the whole series over (and read them again) each time in thanks. It’s the little things that bring such pure joy.
