Some small, unwilling part of me admitted... It was better than the first one. My eyes barked every time I read the words "mate" and "male." But the plot got thicker and was more interesting, though I did have to suffer through lots unwieldy and incorrect grammar (one IN the same?!) and extreme overuse of pet words and phrases. Why does Fayre know no other insult besides "prick?" And why is "hell" a holdover term in this world when everything else has to do with "the cauldron" and "the mother." Anyway. This one was way better than Acotar, but still wildly not my thing. ✨
