What was this? A slow, joyless beach trip with the most unlikeable characters imaginable. I didn’t root for anyone—I just wanted out. Finished it purely out of stubbornness. Of all Hilderbrand’s books I’ve read, this is the only one I truly hated. Beach reads aren’t supposed to feel like punishment
