4.5⭐️-Kate Quinn is one of my never-fail authors, and I loved this collaboration with Janie Chang focusing on 4 women in 1906 San Francisco right before the major earthquake that tore the city apart. I love how the book combines well researched historical facts alongside a dramatic plot that doesn’t shy away from the harsh realities of the time-classicism, racism, and misogyny chief among them. The mystery in this book genuinely surprised me, and the resolution of the plot left me doing more research which to me is the sign of a good historical fiction book. Absolutely worth a read!
