The least we can say is that Alexis B. Osbourne never disappoints with her Heatverse. Like the first two books in the series, this is a romantic erotica set in the Omegaverse, where emotions and spicy scenes are mixed to perfection.
I enjoyed discovering the story of Kat, an Omega who was left by her pack after fertility problems. A few years later, determined to have a child even if it means becoming a single mother, she contacts a clinic specialising in fertility. There she meets Liam, the Alpha who will be the father of her future child. A few administrative problems later, everything Kat had imagined about motherhood is called into question, but what if it’s all for the best?
I liked all the characters in the pack. Kat, Liam, Gabriel and Matthew all fit together very well. Being on the ace spectrum myself, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Matthew, one of the Beta’s in the pack, was demisexual. It’s totally stupid of me, but I didn’t expect this kind of representation in the Omegaverse. I’m glad the author showed me that it’s possible.
However, if I have one criticism to make about this book, it’s that I found the ending a little rushed. I got the impression that the events of the last few chapters had to be squeezed in, but it all seemed to happen too quickly. In the end, I was perhaps expecting to find everything in an epilogue or a bonus scene. However, I still enjoyed finding out what the future holds for all our protagonists.
The Heatverse has been a wonderful discovery for me and I can’t wait to see what Alexis B. Osbourne has in store for us next.
