The Strangers by katherena vermette

This book was a great read. Set it my hometown, it was cool to know the streets and locations mentioned. Working in the systems these women are involved in, it felt familiar but was a great reminder of the work we as a people still have to do to educate ourselves, recognize, and acknowledge how our history shaped these systems today. Katharena Vermette wrote these women beautifully. I loved seeing the growth represented in some, and the heartbreak in others. It touches on some heavy but important and relevant topics and is such an important read.
