The Man Who Broke Capitalism: How Jack Welch Gutted the Heartland and Crushed the Soul of Corporate America—and How to Undo His Legacy by David Gelles
3.0
Great book, however, the title is a bit misleading. Jack Welch was a horrible guy that had a detrimental impact on how businesses are ran, that is without a doubt. But he wasn't alone. And to the Gelles' favor, he doesn't leave out other harmful influential people, but Jack Welch is the main focus. For a more encompassing read, I'd recommend "Dark Money: the Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right". This was still a very informative read and I learned a lot, I just disagree with the main point that it was One Guy™ that moved us into the late stage capitalist hellscape we're in now.
