The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

5.0

usually, i’m able to write coherent reviews right after finishing a novel, but addie larue had me staring at my gorgeous illustrated anniversary edition (that i’m so glad i bought on a whim) in silence. words are everything, addie larue, and i’m so glad v.e. schwab used them to write you into existence.

suffice to say that this book wounded me in the most poetic way it could, and while there may be gripes to hold against it, i find myself overlooking them all because of how this book made me feel. i was feeling the complete combination of heartache and unbridled (maybe slightly apprehensive) hope as i danced through the story with addie and henry. their lives were so vivid and visible (the irony) in my imagination, in which when i wasn’t reading, i could not stop thinking about them.

schwab’s storytelling is like an age old masterpiece in a museum. i’ve been captured by the effortless magic that lingers in her prose. SO happy i decided to read this. addie and henry will have my heart for a lifetime as long as addie’s.
