The Siren by Katherine St. John

5.0

My first Katherine St. John novel, and certainly not my last. The Siren is a drama-laden reality TVesque novel that follows a murder mystery that happened years ago.

On the surface it is all about the juicy drama in the lives of stars and wanna-be starts filming together on an island and how their lives are all connected. Dive a little deeper and you will find that the novel is about so much more. It is about self discovery, love, being open to vulnerability, and not judging others by their appearances. It has a very strong #MeToo message which I loved as I personally know several females who have been sexually harassed by bosses or professors, and suffered socially when they have spoken up, myself included.

I listened to the audiobook version and loved the voice inflections of all the characters, making the novel that much more real and relatable.

CW: murder, crime, strong drug use, sexual harassment, sexual abuse, physical assault, depression, anxiety, profanity, and sexual content.
