I feel like between Hera and Atalanta Jennifer Saint has found her stride. I liked reading about the classic Greek myths through Hera’s eyes and it cast her in an interesting light. Since so many myths are written from the male perspective and paint Hera as the dutiful wife, it was interesting to see everything from her point of view and her thoughts and feelings. I liked that the book showed Hera as the warrior chafing against the role she was forced into and she never gave up her essence. I also really liked the end of the Olympian’s and how it showed how mythical figures change and persist after the stories.
