The Sandman Vol. 1: Preludes & Nocturnes
by Neil Gaiman
For years and years, friends have been telling me that I HAD to read this graphic novel. Now with a television series looming on the horizon, I finally caved and borrowed a copy.
It's basically everything I imagined and more. It's dark, disturbing, complicated, brilliant, and wild. I can appreciate Gaiman's genius storytelling but it's just not my cup of tea. I hope to enjoy the adaptation but I don't think this will be a comic series I obsessively follow. It's a little too grim and dry for me.
