This is a book written for those captured by when true crime meets supernatural. Horror Hotel doesn't hide that it has some very iconic inspiration - details from the infamous Cecil Hotel crime are impossible to miss for true crime buffs. It would have been great to see this story woven with a completely unique story. Despite some of the lack of originality though, this is a solid and engaging story. It's something that those looking for a quick, fun ride can really enjoy. And don't think that just because you know the story of Cecil Hotel you know where this is going. Because in the end it is its own story.
