To Get to the Other Side by Kelly Ohlert

3.0

A sweet, slightly kooky dual POV, roommate romance between two strangers living in Chicago. Thanks to his meddling sisters Bear's extra room gets posted and Trixie jumps at the chance, needing a pet-friendly place to stay after rescuing a sick chicken.

There's some cute banter as these two try to keep things platonic and fail and Trixie struggles with her mental health which I found well done and relatable. I did think she got a tad too attached and overly invested in 'Chick Chick' the chicken and pushed Bear away unnecessarily just for the sake of third act break up drama.

Overall I liked but didn't love this one and would recommend for fans of books like The flatshare or The temporary roomie by Sarah Adams. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review.
