Lord of the Fading Lands by C.L. Wilson

More like a 2.5-3 stars.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I definitely enjoyed some aspects about the plot and I think I am intrigued enough to pick up the next one.

What didn't work for me was the almost glacial pacing. It felt like 400 pages of me waiting for the story to start to be honest, do I care about her wedding preparations? Not really. Do I care about her wedding cake and shoes, again not really.

I don't know, I think I'm over hyper-masculine, bossy male love interests that just seem to know everything all the time. Also it has my least favourite trope of the 'delicate, virginal woman' that is the epitome of goodness and purity just because she hasn't had sex. Can people stop writing this trope already?
