I won't be posting my review on Instagram due to the SMP boycott, but I do want to share my thoughts here because I have A LOT.

I went into the book a bit unsure because I knew the author had only written straight romances before, but I liked the book conceptually and thought the cover was beautiful. It was also very short, which was definitely appealing. The characters were immediately not particularly interesting to me; Opal did that annoying bisexual thing where men are just so terrible, and it's so unfortunate that she's attracted to them because girls are soooo much better, and then Pepper was just doing the stereotypical mean autistic person thing that is just v boring. Both characters were absolutely stereotypes that Eddings came up with...

Plot-wise, I actually liked the plot when it was happening, but it wasn't happening that much. Saving the flower farm was interesting, and it seems like actually saving it all happened off-screen and got told to us during the epilogue... why? I liked that they lost the competition, but it causing the third-act breakup felt so flimsy and like she was told she needed a third-act breakup when I think it would have been a more interesting book if they hadn't.

The romance was good at certain times but not interesting at others. I think this book will be great for people who just want face value, I was just hoping for more.
