“The world will be saved and remade by the dreamers.”
“The fear of loss . . . it can destroy you as much as the loss itself.”
“Do not be afraid of what makes you shine brightly.”
This was a roller coaster of a book. Sarah J. Maas definitely knows how to write an ending, I'll tell you that. Every new book I read by SJM includes an even more impossible ending. I'm seriously not sure how my heart is going to take two more chunky books in this series. Not to mention the rest of the ACOTAR series. (And I know Crescent City is another chunky series.) By the end of the book, I absolutely couldn't put it down. I loved how so many different stories and plot lines intertwined in this one. It was so satisfying to see some favorite minor characters come together in this book. I'm excited to jump into Tower of Dawn!
My only major critique I have is that the pacing in the middle was a bit long. There was a lot of traveling in this book so there were some points that dragged a little more than others. And I'll be honest, SJM repeated quite a few descriptions. For example, she constantly described Aedion and Aelin's eyes as "Ashryver eyes" and the go-to insult for Aelin by literally anyone was "fire-breathing bitch queen." Like get a little more creative.
Overall, I'm really excited to finish this series!
