Of Heartbreak and Harmony by Brit Benson
4.0
Callie and Torren had such a tug-of-war on my heart the entire book! One minute I loved one or both of them, the next I wanted them to feel the pain they were inflicting on others. The tensions were high and the angst was palpable!
Torren, you beautifully broken man you. I loved how the story ended and the character growth and development that took place for both MCs. My heart absolutely broke for T and was slowly repaired with each vulnerable moment he was able to show Callie. Torren was his best self when he was with her. Callie lived for her family and constantly put her own desires and dreams on hold for others. Her caregiver personality made it so hard for her to be selfish and take what she wanted. The fact that she had a take no $h!t attitude the entire "contract" with Torren just made me pump my fists for her! I loved seeing her finally take the reigns and ask for what she needed!
Of Heartbreak and Harmony flowed seamlessly between the past and the present POVs. The perspective from both MCs was so well done. The ending had me so happy and fulfilled, but dang did it take you to the depths of emotional hell to get there!!!
Glory was one of my favorite Brit Benson side characters! Such a bundle of sass and wit! I wanted her to pop up uninvited in every chapter, just to see chaos ensue! :P
