Chris and Sara are still new to their relationship, and past secrets threaten to end them. Sara is still determined to find Rebecca, but is also enjoying her new job. It's clear to Sara that something important happened between Chris, and Mark, but neither of them are admitting what that is. She wants to believe in their relationship, and trust Chris, but her past is affecting her future. She still hasn't heard a word from Ella, her best friend who went to Paris to get married. Add all of that to the fact that Sara feels threatened each time she visits Rebecca's forgotten storage unit, and she has no idea who to trust.

Chris opens up to Sara and allows her into some parts of his life, especially the childrens charity. At a banquet for the charity, she runs into her ex, Michael who threatens to expose Chris's dark side, if she doesn't return home. Chris finds her sobbing in the bathroom, and has security find him. He tells Michael and Sara's father that their threats won't work, and he is more than capable of ruining both of them. Michael is the son her father never had, and when she left him the first time he raped her to prove she still belonged to him. She told him she would stay with him, but needed to pack her things in San Francisco before moving back to Vegas. Once she was home, she told him if he ever touched or talked to her again she would file charges on him. It's been two years, and he has left her alone until then. When one of the boys he is close to from the charity dies, Chris loses it and goes to the club. Mark and Sara find him tied up, demanding to be whipped as hard as anyone can give it. She tries to console him, but he pushes her away. He breaks things off, and for a week she is devastated. Mark tries again to take care of her, but she tells him that can't happen. Chris comes back, and again they vow to fix their relationship. When she finds out he knew Rebecca more than he let on, she goes to Mark for answers. She finds him there with his friend, and Ava (the coffee shop owner). Ava freaks out, threatening Sara, and yelling at Mark that he will fuck her then come back like he did with Rebecca. Sara leaves, but Ava tries to run her over before slamming into a tree. She gets out and pulls a gun on her, but Chris shows up just in time to stop her. Ava admits to the police that she killed Rebecca. Chris tells Sara he thought she would run to Mark after their fight, and vowed that if he caught her there it would be the end. Several hours later he tells her he played a part in her going to Mark for answers by keeping things from her, and if she wants to know everything she can come with him the following morning to Paris, and they can try to find Ella while they're there. She has a few hours to decide if that's what she wants to do, and if so she is supposed to meet him at the airport.
