Antigua Vida Mía by Marcela Serrano

It was a very interesting reading, looking at Latin America from a perspective of two Chilean women, who lived through country's transformation. One is a famous singer who neglected her family for her career and the other one is an architect living with an abusive man. There is a tragedy and it's overcoming. It's about tradition, one's roots and marital and family ties. It's different from the traditional view of a woman and I liked it for that. I really want now to move to Antigua to Guatemala ;)
