This is my first Elin Hilderbrand book and I’m very glad my dear friend who is already a fan knew that this historically set novel would be a good gateway for me. I’m not always into this genre but Hilderbrand is a solid writer and I was definitely invested in the characters. I loved the song title chapters (and her accompanying Spotify playlist) and the weaving of that tumultuous time in history within the narrative.
