Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin

4.0

It's been a while since I've read a YA contemporary novel. I wouldn't say that I've outgrown them but I find myself reading more from literary fiction and books suited for adults.
However, I actually ended up enjoying this book more than I had anticipated. I liked how the protagonist's voice seemed honest enough to come from a teenager who's finding her way through love, family, education, life etc. In this story, the main character loses four years of her memory as she trips down a staircase. I found the story engrossing as she moves on to figure her life as she had left it and then deciding what parts she would and could change and coming to terms with it, and herself. I liked the family dynamic of the story too.
Overall, it's a good book, one that I'd recommend for teenagers to try out.
