And the Trees Crept In by Dawn Kurtagich
5.0

You know how sometimes you pick up a book expecting it to be one thing and it turns out to be so much more? That is this book. Sure it had all the creepiness I was expecting but it also had an atmosphere of increasing desperation, a buildup of madness that had me questioning what to believe, interesting characters, and moments of depth and beauty that were unexpected. I listened to the audiobook and I don’t think I would want to experience this book any other way. The narrator was beyond amazing, the music and sound effects were added at the perfect moments to build suspense.
