One to Watch
by Kate Stayman-London
This one was hard to read!
I liked the body positivity and inclusivity. This book is hard to read at times because it is so brutal, and unkind. But that's what makes it realistic. Being keyed into Bea's thoughts was crucial to this story and the main reason I enjoyed it. And I did love her character arc as well. I also liked the different media formats in which the book was told! ⠀
⠀
But I didn't like the plot. I found myself getting bored with the show Bea was on, the men she dated, and frankly, her too. It was just very back and forth and there was too much drama with no emotional investment. Also, I thought Asher was very creepy and possessive, but that might just be me. ⠀
⠀
Overall, it was a win for inclusivity, and in a self defining romance way, but the plot was just muddled and repetitive and I found myself skim reading after the first half of the book. I had to force myself to finish it ⠀
