I liked this a lot; it was a quick, amusing, and heartbreaking story at the same time. The way Adara is described as quite literally being cold-hearted and warming up at the end made for some good character development.
I don’t think I would consider this a children’s novella as it says it is, given how much death and destruction are in the story. The drawings do add to the children’s aspect and are beautifully made, but other than that, I don’t think it’s a children’s book.
