Space Boy Volume 5 by Stephen McCranie

emotional funny mysterious
  • Loveable characters? Yes

4.0

Space Boy continues to be an engaging and unique story with great art and lovable characters. I did not love the cross-dressing comment made by one of the characters, but maybe that will be redeemed in a future volume.

Summary with spoilers:
Amy struggles to find a way to reconnect with Oliver but he gives her the silent treatment. She explores the abandoned water treatment plant and finds the murals Oliver has made which reflect his past family. Amy is confused by the murals but decides that she will not allow Oliver to shut her out because she cares about him.
David breaks up with Cassie, and she confides in Amy that she should have realized she was hurting David. Amy vows to stand by Cassie and to be there for her friends.
