The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams by Stacy Schiff
2.0
unfortunately, i finished this entire book.
narrative-wise, this is significantly lacking. i realize samuel adams is a tough man to pin down, but as the book went from scene to scene and event to event, it felt extremely convoluted.
usually biographies humanize and give immediacy to figures from history. this one did not. i feel like i know just as much about samuel adams as when i started because this book did little to nothing to bring him to life.
