I almost teared up reading the latter half of this book. Man, the heartache they both must feel. Kou, while he handled things with Futaba and Narumi poorly, he's gotta be feeling what Futaba is feeling too.  I don't understand why he feels he has to be the one to hold Narumi up, but he's a kind person, so I also do understand.

I don't usually like miscommunication, but when it's teens/kids I'm less bothered by it. I was so happy for Futaba, then it quickly crashed. I have felt that kind of heartbreak as a teen. Seeing more of Kou's side of the situation, and how he seems to feel some kind of guilt that he has people in his life, while she doesn't made me sad for him. Kominato is right, and being the one one Narumi can lean on is doing more harm that good. She needs to find more people and make her own friends.

That being said, I don't like Narumi. I don't like that she's using Kou, I don't like that she lied to him, I don't like the way she talked to Futaba. It makes me suspicious that she might be lying about her living situation. She's already lied about one thing. What proof is there that she's not, at the very least, exaggerating something else?
