Between the initial draw of elemental magic, the amazingly sweet and funny love-interest, and the dark dangers along the path to a save-the-world marriage alliance, I could not put this book down! The protagonist was a mixture of strong-independent-woman-who-knows-what-she-wants and princess-willing-to-forgo-herself-for-the-people, and I LOVED watching that balancing act. There were also multiple times I laughed out loud throughout the book (“if you know what I mean”), as well as moments I squeaked out “Oh no”s. So engaging, so fun, I need book two NOW! X-D
