The Accidental Universe: The World You Thought You Knew
by Alan Lightman
A good pop-sci book that integrates science and the humanities in discussions of the universe. Several observations changed my perspective of the world, so what more could one ask for? The writing is clear and engaging, but I never felt like I was being talked down to or the ideas being too dumbed-down. Certainly one of the best popular science books that I've read. I prefer it to [b:How We Got to Now: Six Innovations That Made the Modern World|20893477|How We Got to Now Six Innovations That Made the Modern World|Steven Johnson|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1408311562s/20893477.jpg|40236436], which was too much like reading a tv show and, while it had more information and trivia, did not have the cohesive development of ideas that is evident in Lightman's writing. If you're looking for a quick science read, I highly recommend picking this up!
