wow, I really don't like giving bad reviews about books. But this one really didn't do it for me and I was really surprised given the high rating it had. The story never caught me and I had to push myself to turn the pages -- mostly because I wanted it over with. I also kept hoping that there was something coming that would explain why everyone loved it so much. It got a little better towards the end, but not much. It felt more like a draft of a story than the story itself, there wasn't enough depth or development and everything seemed to just happen with no build or explanation. The characters felt very superficial. Part of me wants to read book 2 to see if it is any better, but I'm not sure I want to waste my time and money. It took me a few hours to read and frankly, it felt like it only took the author a few hours to write! Sorry.
